Solder-free connection equipment with pin check

Requirements:
  • Manual seated/standing workstation
  • Recognition of different housing and printed circuit board versions
  • Recognition of position in relation to housing and type of circuit board
  • Solder-free pressing of circuit board on to plug connections
  • resence check for all connections

Design:
  • Use of hydro-pneumatic press with slide table
  • Safety light curtain
  • Master Siemens PLC with OP3 text display
  • Spacing measurement with laser sensors
  • Identification of parts with light sensors and data matrix scanner
  • Pneumatic locking in the event of a fault
  • Recognition of plug connections using precision switching contact pins

With this machine, the contact is pressed into the plated hole in a printed circuit board. Contact is made between the deformable contact and the plated hole. A gas-tight connection is produced if the dimensions are correct and the hole is made properly. The build-up of tolerances for the plated hole is of decisive importance for the quality of the connection. The tolerance of the hole is the nominal size - 0.025 mm.

Resilient pressing zone
The resilient pressing zone has different shapes, e.g. W, Z, U, H, Y, X, C, V, S and needle-eye, as well as other shapes for specific manufacturers. All these resilient pressing zones have the characteristics listed below.

Significant advantages compared with solder connections are:

  • No thermal stress for components
  • Particularly economical, fast and secure connection
  • Direct metallic contact (gas-tight, gap-free connection)
  • Sealed against corrosive environmental influences

For use with:

  • Extreme electrical load
  • Rapid temperature changes
  • Moist heat
  • Long-term storage at high temperature
  • High mechanical stress
